Fish Cutlets Goan Style

cutletIngredients
500 gms tuna fish – cut, cleaned, salted and washed
2 curry leaves1 tbsp vinegar
3 onions
10-12 garlic cloves
1” ginger
4-5 green chillies
4 bread slices
Handful of coriander leaves, chopped fine
10-12 mint leaves, chopped fine
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp garam masala powder
1 tsp pepper powder
1/2 – 3/4 cup water (as required)
Salt to taste
Bread crumbs to coat
Oil to fry

Method
Boil the fish pieces with the curry leaves and vinegar till the water is dried out and the fish cooked.
Grate the onions and put in a little salt and set aside.
Discard the curry leaves, cool the fish and then debone.
Grind the fish pieces with ginger, garlic and green chillies.
Powder the bread fine in a blender and mix well with the grated onion so that the bread absorbs the water released from the onion.
Add the dry masalas, fish paste, coriander and mint leaves to the onion.
Add salt as required and mix well.
Shape the cutlets as desired and roll in bread crumbs. shallow fry till nicely browned on both sides.
Serve hot with green salad and tomato sauce.
