Super Simple Mutton Pepper Fry

500 gms mutton cubes
1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
1/2 tsp tumeric powder
1.5 tbsp pepper powder
1/2 green capsicum, julienned
Salt to taste

Method
Wash the mutton and marinate in ginger garlic paste, tumeric powder and salt for about half an hour.
Put into a wok with about 1/2 – 3/4 glass of water.
Bring to a boil and dry the water completely.
While the mutton is boiling, heat oil in a shallow vessel fry the capsicum juliennes in it.
Drain the juliennes and set aside the oil.
When the water from the mutton is dry, pour in the oil in which the capsicum has been fried and fry the mutton in it.
Add the pepper, and extra salt if required, and fry till the mutton is done>
Add in the fried capsicum and stir for a while.
Remove from heat, and serve.

  1. since the mutton is marinated .. do we keep it in another small utensil and boil it in a cooker or boil in a lid pan ? sorry did not get the part also how long do we boil it ?thanks 🙂

    • Hi dear.

      You will need about one glass of water to boil the meat in a kadhai. Bring to a boil first and then simmer till the water dries. No need of pressure cooking. Check for tenderness of the meat when the water is almost dry. If you feel it requires some more cooking before frying add 1/4 glass of water more. This should give you just the right amount of softness – you don’t want the meat too soft for this dish. Requires a little bite 😉
